WALMART

Senior Art Director

2022-2023

As the Senior Art Director for the Walmart redesign project, my primary responsibility was to lead the visual transformation of Walmart’s website and app, ensuring that the new design not only met but exceeded user expectations. The goal was to create a clean, engaging, and user-friendly interface that would set Walmart apart from its competitor, Amazon.

Achieving this refreshed and contemporary aesthetic was made possible through the implementation of a sophisticated grid system. The application of drop shadow settings on the tiles further enhanced the visual appeal, providing depth and dimension to the overall layout.

To maintain consistency and streamline the visual representation across different platforms I was tasked withe creating the new style guide. This guide served as a reference for both on and off-site ads, providing clear guidelines on color palettes, typography and design elements for each season.

The redesign of Walmart's app has garnered positive attention across various news and media outlets.

Forbes highlights the expansion of Walmart's marketplace business, emphasizing the growing variety of items and brands that position the retailer as a comprehensive one-stop destination. The company is optimistic that the redesign, addressing various opportunities, will result in enhanced performance and customer loyalty

The Verge commends the new look, comparing it favorably to amazon's interface by describing it as cleaner the cluttered design has been replaced with bubbly blocks that highlight different departments and deals, creating a visually appealing and organized layout.

Business Insider provides a detailed overview of the redesigned features, underscoring the improved shopping experience compared to other platforms like amazon. The homepage now incorporates live video and adopts a social media-inspired scroll for users to effortlessly browse selections. The redesign not only benefits customers but also supports suppliers and third-party sellers on walmart marketplace, enabling them to showcase more relevant products.

Overall, the consensus is that the redesign has successfully enhanced the user experience and strengthened Walmart's position in the competitive online marketplace.

SONIC + ZELDA SHIPPING BOX Creative

I worked on a few package designs in collaboration with Paramount Plus and Nintendo. The projects involved creating box activations for Paramount Plus and QR code activations for Nintendo's most anticipated title of the year, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

For Nintendo our task was to create an in-home billboard + pre- order box that had a QR code activation. The QR code would allow customers to easily pre-order Zelda by scanning the code with their smartphones. Our team worked on creating an eye-catching design for the pre-order box, which prominently featured the QR code.

For the Paramount Plus project, the brief called for a particular box activation that would showcase Sonic + Sonic product collaborations + a game.
