GUASSIAN ROADS
For this project, I explored the new wave of AI to 3D technology using Trellis3D and Polycam 3D AI. Both tools allowed me to capture real cars and convert them into Gaussian splats, which use point cloud data to recreate objects with incredible realism inside a 3D environment.
I tested the power of this workflow by creating full scenes with real car captures and by taking AI-generated car images and converting them into Gaussian splats to see how well they translated into 3D space. The results show how quickly this technology is evolving and how close we are to turning any image into a usable 3D asset.
