BIRD DANCE x Marie-Louise Hertog
Bird Dance is a cinematic 3D short created from a single question: What happens when human movement and imagined creatures share the same body?
For this piece, I used video from contemporary dancer Marie-Louise Hertog, capturing her full performance using MoveAI’s markerless motion-capture system. The result was a clean, expressive data set that preserved every shift of balance, breath, and gesture in her choreography.
Using MeshyAI, I generated and refined a series of raven forms—feathers, talons, wings, and skeletal components—then merged them with Marie’s captured movement. Additional real-world textures and objects were scanned through Polycam3D and layered into the scene to ground the environment. These elements were then brought together, surfaced, and lit inside Splinetool, where the final animation took shape.
The film explores the space where dance and AI meet. By combining human motion with generative modeling and real-world photogrammetry.
Bird Dance is part of an ongoing exploration into how next-generation tools can expand the language of movement with real life emotional authenticity.
